She has also appeared as the character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and two episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, as well as voicing Peggy in Marvel’s animated series What If…? After that performance, Atwell led her own spinoff series Agent Carter, which ran for two seasons from 2015-2016. Atwell landed her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2011, playing Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger. Though Mission: Impossible 7 will be Atwell’s first venture into the Mission: Impossible franchise, the actress is not new to the world of action-packed blockbusters. Mission: Impossible 7 will star Atwell alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and long-time leading man Tom Cruise.
McQuarrie also helmed the previous two Mission: Impossible films: Fallout in 2018 and Rogue Nation in 2015.
The seventh Mission: Impossible movie is titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part I and will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie. Mission: Impossible 7 star Hayley Atwell details her intense training process for the film. If Street Fighter 6 achieves a roster size comparable to the final stages of its predecessor, this variety in moveset should keep fighting game fans coming back for some time. Chun-Li’s graceful flying kicks and chops are a sharp contrast to Jamie’s unpredictable style, inspired by the breakdancing moves he displays in his victory animations. Fighting games like Street Fighter 6 live and die by the diversity of their roster, and while there’s obviously much more to see from Street Fighter 6 in that regard, the four characters in the demo all have very distinct styles. Of course, the characters shine through the most in combat. These factors make little to no difference once the fists start flying, but they’re a fun bit of flair.
A brief intro cinematic for each fight shows both characters stepping into the ring, accompanied by a small bio screen that lists height, weight, likes, and dislikes. Street Fighter 6‘s Game Face mechanic lets characters’ personalities shine through while still allowing the player to customize their approach to combat. The game places considerable significance on the characters in its roster, and this comes through in a variety of ways. At Summer Game Fest, Capcom released a new Street Fighter 6 trailer officially confirming Guile, another returning character to fill out the limited ranks of officially revealed fighters. These leaks were seemingly confirmed by Capcom itself, which went public to not only acknowledge the leaks but thank fans for their positive reception to what they’d seen. The title put on a good showing at PlayStation’s State of Play event in early June 2022, and not long after that gameplay reveal SF6 suffered a series of leaks, apparently revealing its entire roster and displaying footage of gameplay much earlier than Capcom intended.
The history of Street Fighter 6 has been brief but eventful following its official reveal in February. Capcom’s flagship fighting franchise has lain mostly dormant since 2016’s Street Fighter V, but recently Screen Rant got some hands-on time with SF6 at Summer Game Fest, trying out a brief demo with access to a small roster of playable characters, including the newly-bearded Ryu. Street Fighter 6 has been a long time coming.
